The Meadow Collection

I’m so excited to share my Genevieve dress from Violette Field Threads that I created using Hawthorne Threads‘ new collection “Meadow!”

Genevieve has always been one of my favorite designs and Alexis Wright has updated it to include new options and it is a fabulous fit!

If you didn’t already know, Elise is a HUGE fan of bunnies. When I saw this fabric, I knew she would instantly be in love! I also decided to make her a matching Blushing Bunny to bring along on her photoshoot.

We had lots of fun in our new photo spot and I couldn’t love this fabric and this dress more!!

Wonderful Things Blog Tour

I am so excited to be a part of Bonnie Christine's Wonderful Things blog tour!! Have you been reading everyone's posts these past few weeks?? Did you see what Sarai (@sarai_hobbies) shared on her Instagram page on Friday?? The cutest little pouches! It's been so fun to see all of the fabulous creations and there's so many more to come!!

I've been in love with this collection since it first came out, and when I saw the new color-way I got even more excited!! I chose to work with the double border print in Shine and it really makes my daughter happy! What else would a 5 year old love besides pink and flowers? 😉

I chose to make Elise a dress to showcase the floral border print. I love the addition of those fun polka dots and knew I wanted to show them off somewhere else as well. I added them to the sleeve for a special pop!

The subtle pink of the fabric is just the perfect shade for my fair skinned girl and I love love love those flowers! I can't wait to make so many more designs using these fabrics!!

Be sure to check out more bloggers throughout the next few weeks. Up next tomorrow is Jen Van Orman!

Lily

I had the chance to sew up Lily by Petite Stitchery and Co and we absolutely love it!!

I modified it to be all knit because Elise loves “soft dresses” but the pattern is designed for a knit bodice and woven skirt.

I love the unique side necktie.

And of course Elise LOVES that there are pockets!!!

There are three sleeve options as well. It comes in sizes 2T to 12 and I definitely will be making more! I made this using Katarina Roccella’s In Blue knit fabric I got from Threads and Stitches Fabric

Marlee and Lennon

Once again, Violette Field Threads has designed some amazing summer patterns! This set is Marlee, reversible swing top, and Lennon, bubble shorts!

I adore Marlee so much. You can pair it with a tank under for more coverage but because we’re in Texas we went without and this mama is still pleased with the amount of coverage! And did I mention it’s reversible??

Lennon bubble shorts are a perfect fit! They feature a flat front and back with side gathers. The perfect amount of bubble for that cute look!

The fabric for Marlee is from Bec Williams Designs. I found her on Instagram and was thrilled when her fabric was finally released!!

Make sure you pick up these patterns!!

When I get something in my head…

I can’t wait to see it finished!! As y’all know, I’m a tester for Violette Field Threads. I’m so in love with everything they design!! I also love how you can take parts from multiple dresses and make something completely new!

I recently tested the newest skirt set Clover. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to add it to a dress. So I used the Alice bodice and extended the ties. I knew I wanted an elastic back so I modified Alice to achieve that look. I added some loops to the bottom sides so that I could tie the straps like the Cairo dress! I added 2 inches to the top of the Clover skirt to get the right length (after measuring Elise) And voila!

I also knew that I wanted to use rayon for extra movement in the dress. I got this Maureen Cracknell Soulful fabric from Ashley at Simply Swanky Fabrics and it was perfect for my vision!!

The best part, Elise loves it ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

Loralie

Violette Field Threads recently updated the Loralie dress and I got the chance to sew it up this past week. I absolutely love this dress. There are so many options included in the pattern, so the possibilities are endless! I chose Option B with the overlay on top of the bodice.

I’m obsessed with stripes with floral!! I used the new line Charleston by Amy Sinibaldi and purchased it from Hawthorne Threads. I paired the floral with Amy Sinibaldi’s Petits Strokes pinstripe. I love turning stripes into a big chevron and this bodice was screaming for that!

I love the updated fit of Loralie and can’t wait to make more!! Check out the rest of our pics ๐Ÿ™‚

The June Maxi

We make a lot of trips to Joanns. Ask my kids. Ask my husband. ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes I go with a project in mind, sometimes we go just for buttons and end up with some fabulous fabric instead. That’s what happened when I found this incredible embroidered denim. I had to have it and didn’t know what I would make yet. Elise loved it too so it was perfect! I let it sit in my sewing room for a few weeks before I decided what she would be. And then I knew. The June dress bodice from Violette Field Threads would be perfect!! The fabric was the perfect length to make it a maxi dress for Elise, which she loves! So I cut into this gorgeous fabric, paired it with a new floral crown from Little Lady Accessories, and Elise rocked the photo shoot! Hope you love it as much as we do!
